JSC “Bekabadcement” is the first industrial enterprise of Uzbekistan the history of which starts from 1926. During the one century history of cement production, our plant is well deserved to have a reputation of the most stable enterprise which manufactures products of the highest quality thanks to well-organized and highly professional personnel team, dynasties of cement producers in the seventh generation.
JSC “Bekabadcement” specializes in production of various grades of Portland cement including general construction grade (PC 400-D20, SHRS 400), high grade (PC 400 D0), and special grade (SSPC 400-D20, PPC 400-D40).
Quality of our products is confirmed with conformance certificates as well as high demand in CIS countries. The Nurek and Farkhad hydroelectric power plants, Ferghana and Syrdarya thermal stations, metallurgical plant, Tashkent Airport which is the biggest in Central Asia, Shurtan gas-chemical complex, “Baykonur” space launch facility and many other power and industrial enterprises were constructed using products of Bekabadcement.
Chronology of Enterprise Modernization
1936-1938: theplant was re-equipped for the first time. Two circular furnaces with diameter 3.0–3.3 m and length 65 m were installed. The plant continued to produce 155 thousand tons of cement per year. The cement plant was unified with the asbestos pipe plant and became known as Bekabad Cement Complex in 1957.
1957-1962: it was re-equipped for the second time. Two circular furnaces with diameter 3.3 and 3.0 m, length 118 m and one furnace with diameter 3.6 m and length 150 m, four mills with size 2.4 х 13 m were installed; operation of the existing equipment was also improved. The limestone crushing factory with capacity 200 thousand tons and the cement stockhouse for 25 thousand tons of products were launched into operation. Natural gas was used instead of black oil in circular furnaces. As a result of implemented activities, the complex started to produce up to 670 thousand tons of cement per year.
The crushing and sorting factory was launched into operation in 1972. This factory became known as Bekabad Plant of Nonmetalliferous Materials since 1974.
1974-1976: lines for production of asbestos pipes ATM–3, SM–713A and line SM–1115 for production of asbestos board were installed to improve production of asbestos pipes and asbestos board.
Information about Reconstruction:
1974: modernization of the rotary furnaces No.4 and No.5 by alteration of furnace diameter from 3.6 m to 4.0 m was carried out.
1978: modernization of the rotary furnaces No.4 and No.5 by alteration of furnace length from 118 m to 140 m was carried out.
1982–1983: a new open pit in Bayaut district of Syrdarya Region was launched into operation. New electrical filters were installed in the burning and grinding shop. As a result, cement production reached 714 thousand tons per year.
1988: a new compressor was launched into operation. As a result, the complex was fully supplied with compressed air.
1989–1991: equipment which captures cement dust was installed.
1993: modernization of the rotary furnace No.6 was carried out increasing furnace diameter from 3.6 m to 4.0 m along 66 m length from the hot end of furnace.
2008: reconstruction of the chain zone of the rotary furnace No.4 was carried out changing the length of the chain zone from 29.80 m to 35.15 m.
2009: reconstruction of the chain zone of the rotary furnace No.3 was carried out changing the length changing the length of the chain zone from 29.60 m to 35.15 m.
2009: reconstruction of the chain zone of the rotary furnace No.5 was carried out changing the length of the chain zone from 30.10 m to 36.30 m.
2010: reconstruction of the chain zone of the rotary furnace No.6 was carried out.
2012: reconstruction of the chain zone of the rotary furnace No.1.2 was carried out with installation of frequency converters raising hourly productivity of furnaces by 1 t/h.
2013: was carried out reconstruction of the rotary furnace No. 3 with installation of frequency converters was carried out that raised hourly productivity of furnaces on 1 t/h. The general designer is the Institute “Yuzhgiprocement”.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE ENTERPRISE
The plant was awarded with the Order of “Labor Red Banner” in 1960. International award for product quality “Golden Globe” was obtained in 1997; international award “Arch of Europe” was given in 200l; JSC “Bekabadcement” was awarded a prize “Era of Quality” in platinum category CENTURY INTERNATIONAL QUALITY ERA in Geneva on March 10, 2013. It was achievement of the entire personnel team; we were to enter international market. Each year, tens employees received orders, medals, titles or honorary diplomas.
Quality management system at JSC “Bekabadcement” was introduced and certified on June 29, 2007 bythe company “MoodyInternationalLimited”, Azerbaijan which confirmed conformance of quality management system of JSC “Bekabadcement” to quality requirements under ISO 9001:2000 version; CONFORMANCE CERTIFICATE No. UZ.SMT/04/002/0004 dated 20.07.2007 was issued with expiry period till 19.07.2007. Recertification of quality management system under MS ISO 9001:2008 was carried out in 2010 and CONFORMANCE CERTIFICATE No. UZ.SMT/04/002/0008 dated 30.08.2010 was issued with expiry period till 29.08.2013. Recertification of quality management system under MS ISO 9001:2008 was carried out in 2011 by the company “EruasianExpertGroup” and CONFORMANCE CERTIFICATE No. UZ.SMT/04/020/005 dated 25.07.2011 was issued with expiry period till 24.07.2014.
