1) Makar Valerievich, the plant you lead is one of the oldest enterprises in Uzbekistan. In what technological and production "form" is the plant and how successful was the year 2015 from the point of view of the volume of output?
Evgeny Eduardovich, we try not to use the word "old" with reference to our enterprise, rather Bekabadcement is the most grown-up plant in the Republic of Uzbekistan, not only because it started its history in 1926, but also because we perceive it as a living organism, as something greater than Just a complex of technological nodes and cogs. 2) Bekabadcement is the largest cement plant in the country in terms of capacity.
How high is competition in Uzbekistan for the consumer and with which key players do you have to share the market of the republic?
What is the capacity utilization for today and do you have enough space in the domestic market? Do you plan to increase the share of your cement on it?
A distinctive feature of our market is the lack of competition, firstly because the sale of finished products is carried out on the sites of the Uzbek Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the market itself sets priorities, well, we just react to changes and try to improve, and secondly, the cement enterprises are geographically located so that Each has its own consumer. So the Neva region provides Kyzylkumcement, Samarkand region Jizzakh cement plant, Kuvasaycement provides cement with the entire Ferghana valley, Akhangarancement provides Tashkent, Bekabadcement provides the Tashkent region.
Moreover, all plants work together, specialists at different levels are constantly in contact, exchanging experience. This partnership approach allows you to exclude errors, losses, downtime and ultimately achieve the best result.
And regarding the increase in the share of the dump, at present the total volume of production of large enterprises is 7 million tons of cement per year, in addition small enterprises are launched that produce in the amount of 1.5-2 million tons of cement per year.

3) How far do Bekabadcement products differ from Uzbekistan and what volumes of exports are they talking about?
Are there any plans to conquer new markets?

In 2015, Bekabadcement exported products for almost $ 1.5 million, from year to year the volume of exports is reduced, this is primarily due to the launch of its own production facilities for the production of cement. In this regard, we are taking measures to diversify production, we are planning to launch a production line for the production of flux lime, the production of dry construction mixtures based on cement, that is, deeper processing and sale of finished products, which will mainly be exported. Thus, we intend to increase the inflow of foreign currency.

4) Which brands of cement are most in demand in Uzbekistan and other markets for Bekabadcement?
Last year, the plant launched a project to launch the Yangiyul grinding station, where the cement of the grade PC 400 D-20 is produced.
What is the demand for new products and are there any plans for further expansion of the range of grades of cement produced?

Sulfate-resistant cements, Portland cement, slag Portland cements are in great demand. More and more construction industry comes to the need to use certain grades of cement, depending on the specificity of the object being built, but still the general cement is in great demand.
The Yangiyul grinding station allowed us to achieve an increase in production, in Yangiyul we produce the brand of PC 400 D-20 and PC 400 D-0, but these Cement Stamps are not new to us, we have already produced in Bekabad. In Yangiyul we focused on tar-cement for 50 kg polypropylene and paper bags. Demand for this product has increased significantly due to the quality of cement and the branding of our products.

5) What plans are there for further modernization of production processes at Bekabadcement? Do you plan to purchase new equipment in 2016 and if so, which companies?
To date, modernization of production is a priority direction of development, and plans are more than ambitious, so a number of projects included in the IDA (International Development Association) program to increase energy efficiency of enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan are planned. The largest project is the project to switch to the dry mode of production. We have already begun to study and study the positive experience of such modernization. As a reference, the German company INTERCEM we organized a visit to the plant in the UAE, where the transition to the dry method was carried out in less than 6 months, we also study the experience of FLSmidth.
The modernization of subject not only to the production sites, but also the enterprise structure, management system, introduction of modern methods of corporate management, modern methods of assessing the effectiveness of the processes carried out comprehensive work on the revision of the existing management system, developed by the Corporate Governance Code.
And with regard to equipment manufacturers for the cement industry, we of course have their own preferences, but the determining value is the price, more purchases of equipment components and spare parts are made through tenders, and if the proposal meets the technical requirements, the winner is the one who will offer the lowest Price. Therefore, we cooperate with Russia, Europe and China. For example, at the last tender for the purchase of refractory bricks, the winner was a producer from Brazil.

6) As far as I know, Uzbekistan has consistently pursued a policy of import substitution in the field of equipment for a number of years.
What level of localization has been achieved and what is the potential of Uzbek enterprises in the supply of components and spare parts for the cement industry?
