History: Cement plant Bekabadcement was commissioned on June 26, 1926 in the village of Bekabad. The initial capacity of the Bekabadcement plant was 25 thousand tons of cement per year. Bekabadcement was the first cement plant put into operation in Uzbekistan.
In 1938 the Bekabadcement plant was re-equipped and began to produce 155,000 tons per year.
As a result of modernization in 1962, the plant began to produce 670 thousand tons per year.
In 1964 a lime shop was put into operation. In March 1995 Bekabadcement was transformed into Bekabadcement OJSC. Since 2003, the production volume of Bekabadcement has increased steadily.
In 2007, production increased significantly due to increased output of cement with additives. At present, Bekabadcement OJSC is the fourth largest producer of cement in Uzbekistan.
The plant supplies products to the markets of Tashkent and Tashkent region, and also exports products to Kazakhstan.
Products: Bekabadcement plant specializes in the production of various brands of portland cement, including general construction (PC 400-D20, SHPTs 400), high-quality (PC ACI 400) and special (CC PP 400-D20, SS PC 500-D20, PPTs 400-D40).
With the use of Bekabadcement products, the Nurek, Farkhad hydropower stations, the Fergana and Syrdarya thermal stations, the metallurgical plant, the largest Tashkent airport in Central Asia, the Shurtan gas chemical complex and many other energy and industrial enterprises were built. The construction of the Baikonur cosmodrome also used cement produced in Bekabad.
